March 1-3, 2009

Remember that early morning flight? I headed to Baton Rouge (and later to Sulphur) to finish the wedding countdown. My sister Alana picked me up and about the time we got back to her house, I was ready for bed. The time change enough to counteract the late concert night!
Monday, we took my nephew to school and throughout the day, we got periodic updates on my sister Della's progress. She and her sons were driving from Chicago. About 1 am Tuesday morning, they arrived! We all got a few hours sleep before it was time to get back in the car and head to Sulphur. After spending a few minutes with Mom & Dad, I went to the courthouse to get the marriage license. Did you know that when we filled out the marriage application, Ben and I had to answer the question "Are the Bride and Groom blood relatives?" That's funny!

Tuesday evening, my four year old nephew Kyle and I decided we had been cooped up in cars for too long. So we discussed the rules and had races in the back yard. Della ran with Kyle once or twice until she realized that he cheats! He always starts to run before he says "go". It didn't bother me. It felt good to run so we continued running around and around until we both dropped from exhaustion. It was a good feeling to run off the stress that seemed to be closing in on me. Ben and I are both planners so there wasn't a lot left to do before the wedding. It was just getting closer and closer...
