Several months ago, we joined a Yahoo group for all things LSU in the Portland/Vancouver area. A couple of weeks ago, they sent us notice of an authentic crawfish boil so we marked the calendar (not that we would have forgotten- it's just that everything goes on the calendar. I love the fact that my darling husband is a fanatic when it comes to recording everything on there cuz I am too!)
After watching and celebrating as LSU's baseball team won twice against Rice, we donned our purple and gold and headed to Eat! An Oyster Bar for our share of 200 lbs of Louisiana crawfish waiting for us to savor and consume. Now some of you may be saying to yourselves "our family eats 200 pounds alone". Well, most people in Portland have not discovered the true bliss which comes with a stomach full of just boiled, steaming from the pot, Louisiana crawfish!

Down Home Cookin'
Posted by Ben and Trish RousselIt was so cool to be in a restaurant in North Portland full of patrons that talk funny like Ben! We met people from all over Louisiana and Mississippi. It was fun to hear the stories of how everyone arrives in Portland. We filled our plates and then filled them again with empty shells. Before we know it, hours have passed and it's time to head to Tayler's graduation party!
I can't wait to come back to Eat! to try their oyster po'boy (my favorite)!
