When you leave plenty of time to get through security, they whisk you through...go figure! That's okay cuz PDX has free Wi-Fi so Ben was a happy camper playing poker and surfing the web.
Yeah, we try self portraits all the time and they turn out whacked. This one is pretty good. Ben would say it's the new camera! (I'm starting to get that panicked feeling. They just announced it's time to leave the gate!)
Look at the beautiful blue sky!
We landed in Houston and ran through the airport as fast as we could, jumped on the tram and then ran some more. We barely made it to the gate when they called our flight. Our puddle jumper flight attendant/pilot Jose was great as we made the short trip to Lake Charles. And just a few minutes later, we were on our way to the beautiful city of Sulphur Louisiana!
WooHoo...cheap gas!!!
Lunch in one of our favorite restaurants, yum, yum!
There was a beautiful swamp painting on the wall. There were all these animals painted into the landscape so we were constantly discovering something new. Great conversation and great food. I'm so happy to be able to spend time with my parents.
The obligatory food picture so Ben could send it back to his co-workers. Too bad they couldn't have a taste!
Time to start traveling again. After lunch, we headed to LaPlace, La to spend the night with Ben's aunt and uncle. Ben, ever the computer tech, brought extra RAM for his aunt's computer. First he had to dust the insides, move some wires, plug in the rechargeable mouse ("I really don't know why it won't recharge!"), install the memory and all the updates that were needed before we could turn it. Tomorrow it's time to hang out with the grandkids, yippee!!
