Death Valley Nov '09

LSU vs. Arkansas- Not sure how this blog entry is going to go so hang tight. If you've read earlier LSU blogs, you know how much Tiger games mean to me. When I was little, I listened to games. When I grew older, I watched them on TV. When I went to my first LSU game, it was in Husky Stadium which was cool, but not the same. I've been to the LSU campus a million times. I've been to see Mike over and over even in March before our wedding. But to know that I was going to be one of 93,000 fans cheering on the Tigers this last regular season game is overwhelming. By the Pete Maravich Center, the LSU Athletic Fund group set up several stations including the Zatarain's Tiger One Village. The line to get into Tiger Mania was a minimum of 45 minutes (good thing we stopped there the day before!) There was so much to see and do before the game started. And look how beautiful the moon was!
Look Grandpa, I made it to a game in Tiger Stadium! I could feel you there the whole time!
Well, if you get your picture taken here, then so do I! Hey everybody...look where I am! Just a few of our closest friends!
This tailgater had a big screen TV and speakers to blow your ears off!
The Death Valley Hearse roasting little piggies on their spit!

And enjoying a few spirits along the way!
Watching the Golden Girls lead the band to the stadium!

Here comes the marching band, 325 members strong. "Hey! Fightin' Tigers! Fight all the way!"

Mike VI and the LSU cheerleaders take a stroll around the field.
"Go Fightin' Tigers, win the game today!" I can hear all those voices from the past singing along to the fight song!
Look how shiny and bright the new Nike uniforms are!
This was more than a football game for me. This was another healing of my heart. My amazing husband knows how to touch me in ways I've never been touched before. While I was on the edge of my seat the entire time much of it was trying to drink in the emotions, drink in the memories. It was a great game. I yelled and screamed and cried during the best LSU game I have ever attended. Thank you darling for making it happen.

Coin toss before OT.
Look at that score! What an exciting way to end the game. It was so fun and I can't wait for the next time!
