Superbowl XLIV

All over the world, fans are watching LA 'BREES' IANA and our fine New Orleans Saints! We were no exception. Ben and I went to watch the Superbowl with some of Ben's coworkers (who have quickly become old friends). We don't hold it against them because they're from Mississippi- they make a mean jambalaya! There was 7 of us all together eatin' fine cajun food, drinkin' and yellin' at the TV! And when the Saints kicked that successful onside kick, there wasn't a dry eye in the house because we knew it was the beginning of the end!

What a game huh? 43 years in the making! I have to say though that as the final seconds ticked down, we grew silent. The cheers stopped and we all just looked at each other. As reality set in so did shock. The Saints actually won the Superbowl! Did we doubt just a little? Never! Did we know deep in our souls that this was the year? Absolutely! I think we just needed a moment of silence for it all to sink in! And then the cheers erupted all over again as the players began to celebrate. The Saints won the Superbowl! And the best part is my Dad called as we were yelling and screaming and I got to celebrate with him! Life is good!
I added this picture because it is a great example of responsible parenting. The "photo op" wasn't more important that their son's hearing. I was once again so very impressed with Drew Brees and his wife Brittany. We know they have worked hard and given back to their community in many ways. That they value their family makes it all the more touching!
