February Snow (2011)

We've been watching the models for a week. Praying every time the weather came on to see if it was remaining the same. 4 days ahead- no change, 3 days ahead- the same, 2 days ahead, even 1 day ahead and it's still on its way...it's getting colder, the rain is still on target to arrive... I woke up at 2:30 because I couldn't breathe (yippee, another cold) and there was nothing. Nothing at all so back to bed, a little disappointed, a little sad. Then, the alarm went off and I raced to the window. Oh wow- there is so much snow and it is breathtaking! The TV is on, waiting, waiting, YES- Beaverton and Hillsboro are closed. YES- the boss proclaims a snow day. The best part is I can go back to bed for a few hours and hope I wake up feeling better. While I slept in (all the way to 7:15), my dear Benjamin took pictures for me. This is in front of our house.
The willow tree in the back yard...
The shrubs, uh-oh, the bird feeder is empty. Better add some more seeds for our little friends!
This tree is so beautiful covered in snow.
We get so many beautiful birds in our backyard and I was lucky enough to capture this one. She had a full red breast and she waddled along the branch. It would be so cool if she laid eggs so we could watch them throughout Spring.
Time to get some work done. Just because it's a snow day doesn't mean I don't have work to do! And I get so much more accomplished at home. In between episodes of Psychic Kids and documentaries and sappy tear-jerker movies, of course. Thank you, thank you God for sending this beautiful snow day for me to rejuvenate! And if we get more snow overnight, I'll thank You all over again tomorrow!
