For my birthday last year, Ben got me the beautiful Aurora figure with Prince Phillip awakening her with a kiss. I had no idea there were more in the series.
So Friday began the 3 days of Valentines. Friday after dinner, Ben brought out this box and said "Day 1." WOW! Jim Shore is the amazingly talented artist of this series. All these are carved out of wood and beautifully painted. The work is so intricate and every time I look at them, I see another facet of the statue.
Saturday brought a new favorite statue...Aurora gazes lovingly into her Prince's eyes.
Sunday, after church, we went to Nona Emilia's for lunch. The pasta was magnificent and my darling surprised me yet again. We were finishing up our meal and Ben asked our waiter to sent another waiter to him. It was all very odd until I realized which table he was talking about. There was an older couple sitting across from us and Ben asked for their check. As the tears rolled down my face, I remembered another Valentine two years ago in New Orleans when a similar event happened. I am a lucky woman to have such a caring husband!
And then when we got home, there was another present. This one is so cool! The three fairies are watching over as Aurora and Phillip dance to "Once Upon a Dream." Needless to say I cried and cried. Then we turned on the little light at their heads and I wound it over and over to watch it play!
A Fairy Tale Valentine indeed!
